Viking volleyball. With a chicken. On floating isles.

Hønsball is the national sport of the floating isles: two players, one runestone for a net, and one very patient chicken. Keep it off your half of the isle, don't knock it into the sky, and win the Isle Cup. There are five opponents on five isles, ending with Chief Hrolf, who invented the sport and has no intention of losing it to you.

HOW IT WORKS

- The chicken lands on your half: point to them. You knock it off the isle: point to them.

- Three touches per side, rally scoring, and the winner of each point serves.

- Bump it with your body, or smash it. Smash in the air near the stone to spike.

- Dive to roll for a dig, or to slam down from the air.

- Springy moss platforms: the chicken bounces off them, and you can stand on them to spike from higher up.

- The chicken gets angrier every time it crosses the stone, so long rallies speed up.

- Each isle has a twist: floaty swamp mist, black ice, a low mine roof over lava, and platforms that rise and fall.

- 1 player: the Isle Cup, five matches with three hearts. 2 players: local versus on one keyboard (or two gamepads).
